About Chris Rose

I’m a senior engineering lead based in London. I’ve spent the last fifteen years building software, leading teams, and trying to understand what actually makes people do their best work.

I’m currently working across product, engineering, and leadership roles while growing my own ventures. I write here to document the lessons, mistakes, and mindset shifts that have shaped me as a leader, father, and human.

My background is a mix of:

  • hands on engineering
  • technical leadership
  • startups and entrepreneurial projects
  • property investment
  • the Makers L7 Senior Leadership programme

Along the way, I’ve realised something important:
good leadership isn’t about being the smartest person in the room.
It’s about bringing clarity, calm, and grounded presence into messy, real situations.

That’s what I’m working on every day.

This blog is my space to share:

  • engineering leadership lessons
  • how to build trust in teams
  • how to stay calm under pressure
  • how to set expectations and goals properly
  • how to balance technical depth with strategic thinking
  • reflections from the Makers L7 programme
  • thoughts on fatherhood, growth, and becoming the man I want my kids to see

If any of that resonates, stick around.
I post weekly and I’m always learning.
